The app
Offline field notes.
GeoJSONic is a field journal for places. It runs on iPhone, iPad, and iPhone Duo. You write the note where you stand. The note stays on the device as GeoJSON. There is no account and no ads.

What you write down
A field note can hold the words, photos, and a voice recording from that place. You can record a route while you hike, bike, or drive. You can walk a boundary and keep the acreage with the note. On a wide screen, including iPhone Duo and iPad, the notes and the map sit side by side.
The free app includes notes, routes, areas, and an online globe. Pro is $3.99 a month, with the first month free, or $39 a year. Pro adds offline map downloads, satellite imagery, place search, multi-stop trip planning, turn-by-turn directions, and PDF field reports.
Ways to use it
Walk a property line and keep what you saw with the note. Property line notes
Write what you see on a job site, with a photo, a voice note, or the walk. Job site notes
Keep a personal log from a hunt. Hunting notes
What it is not
It is a personal log for field notes and trips. It is not a trail catalog, and it is not a land-ownership map. Download maps before you lose a signal. Place search, weather, and new directions need a connection. GPS capture itself does not.
